The number of Indigenous employees in the Industrials business increased from one per cent in 2016 to three per cent in 2017. Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety (WIS) comprises four main operating businesses: Blackwoods Australia (and NZ Safety Blackwoods in New Zealand), Workwear Group, Coregas and Greencap. 

WIS is part of the Wesfarmers Industrials Division. WIS employs more than 3,600 people and services customers large and small from industries including mining, manufacturing, construction, government, transport, energy and retail.

WIS focused on the following material issues during the year:

  • Product safety and quality
  • Climate change resilience
  • Gender diversity
  • Indigenous engagement
